Cyberspace
In this passage of convergences it talks about cyberspace. In the passages Jonathan G.S. Koppell makes an argument that cyberspace is not real space. I agree one hundred percent with what he is saying in this essay. I don't think anyone should think that the internet can be an alternative world. There are a lot of people out there today that play different types of games online that seem like another world, but in reality you are just sitting in front of your computer just like the other people you are playing against. I personally have been a part of some of these games, or virtual worlds. Another passage in here by Linden Lab CEO argues that going onto these virtual worlds can advance our evolution. I am going to have to disagree with this also, because like the video games you are still just sitting in front of your computer just like all of the other people that you are in the virtual world with.
