Composing America
This piece in convergences was a little hard for me to read. Probably just because it was so long, but i did find it interesting. I thought it was interesting that the day we actually celebrate as the fourth of july was the day that the first complete assembly of the Declaration of independence was printed and not the day it was actually signed. I think that that was just because it was important to everyone for everything to be perfect on the Declaration of Independence and that we actually wanted to celebrate the Declaration being proclaimed from what is now the Old State House. I think that this reading was basically about telling us that revision is important with everything and even way back then they had to revise things like the Declaration of Independence more than once to make it how it should be...and that's what we should be doing with our papers too.

Yes...revision in important to most documents, even iconic historical texts.
