Gettysburg Address

Because I am an auditory learner, hearing the Gettysburg Address out loud by Johnny Cash made me want to listen to it more. And there's something funny and intriguing about Cash reciting the speech that makes me want to listen to it even more because of his trademark low voice and the fact that he was a celebrity.

The powerpoint kind of butchers the Gettysburg Address because, well, it does exactly that. It cut and organized the speech into sections. It sort of detracted from the whole feel of the speech. It created a more business-like feeling. Although, the thought to make it into a powerpoint was creative..I will give it that. Also, if you are crunched for time and just need to know the main points it is a good tool. Or if you aren't good at understanding the way they talked over two hundred years ago this powerpoint will be to your benefit.

I wonder if Lincoln knew the Gettysburg Address would be as famously remembered as it was/is and would be in our textbooks.
