Romance, by Apocalyptica is riveting in my eyes. The song itself is entirely acoustic, as are most of the songs that they play and write. To help you understand why I chose this song I first have to describe the type of music they play. The band itself consists with four members, all of which play nothing more than string instruments. My enjoyment for this type of music exceeds all others which I am sure has something to do with the type of music I listened to growing up. Even though the band is a string quartet, the genre of their music revolves around orchestral rock.
My major enjoyment for this music is the empowering feeling is gives me while I listen to it. It is the music I will turn to when I am having a bad day for whatever reason. It has the kind of melody to it that just sends shivers down my spine and I love it.
With this specific song I love the imagery I think of for it and often times make the imagery a reality. in the beginning of the song its starts of tranquil, when you listen to it you can just imagine driving down a back road; no street lights and its a beautiful star lit night. up until the chorus that is. Once you get there it sounds like the intro for the bad guy in a movie.
