Williams Errors (In Class)

1. The "game" he is talking about at the end of the article is referring to him actually purposely inserting errors throughout the paper. You don't think to even notice errors because he is writing about how people stress errors in stuff that they write and would think he would not use errors.

2. His point is that people focus more on the smaller errors and stress these far too much. People don't focus on the actual writing itself and what is being said. He is also saying that everyone has a different definition of what an error is and this is based on what they were taught and how they review an essay in general.

3. He locates the error in both the writer and the reader. The writer learns the error and puts it into a paper. At the same time, the reader locates the errors in the paper. Everyone sees a different error in the paper because of what they were taught.

4. He wants to show that nobody has perfect writing. Everyone makes errors. Most people look pass these errors simply because the writer is a published writer. The published writers do not even notice their own errors sometimes.
