Simpsons and cool

I think that the episode is more concerned with cool things. Most of the old time bands were uncool in the episode, but really their music is pretty good and I would consider them cool. But in that era, they were uncool. Then the bands that were considered cool aren't anymore. Homer was trying to be cool but he wasn't ever a cool person. People change throughout life but usually reamin cool or not, but things grow in and out of cool all the time. So if you were never a cool person, your chances of becoming cool are slim. If something is not cool, the chances of it becoming cool are a lot higher.
