CYBERSPACE as PLACE

The internet, just like everything, in moderation is a nice place to stay. It truly does connect people. For instance, my childhood neighbor who I hadn't seen in 12 years is my friend on facebook. I actually crossed paths with her over spring break, but didn't realize it was her until after she posted pictures and I recognized her other friends that I had met down there.

Though the whole point of the internet is to stay connected, it indeed can end up isolating people. It can isolate people from the real world. Instead of kids playing card games with a visibly tangible friend, now they can play cards online with a stranger in Moscow if they want to. You do lose a sense of fellowship with people that way by not actually being with them.
