youtube!
I think the reason so many people watch YouTube videos is because anyone can upload a video. When you watch the videos of people doing stupid funny things you can relate to it. I’m sure everyone has a video of their friends doing something ridiculous and it’s hilarious to watch. So when people put their videos up on youtube its entertainment, just like TV. The article said that famous youtube video makers are not recognized as real celebrities. I’d have to argue with that portion of the article. There is this kid named Fred on youtube who makes funny pointless videos. He is very widely known and I’ve even seen a shirt with his face and name on it at Spencer’s in the mall. I think youtube is popular enough in this age that youtube stars could become known in the real media. I thought it was funny that the 4 video’s the book picked out for examples were all dudes doing their videos alone. It just makes it seem like they’re nerds and have nothing better to do except have an imaginary light-saber battle. And what was with the old man dancing? I had to laugh again when the article mentioned how would you feel it that was your dad? I can understand kids and teens posting youtube videos for enjoyment. However, a middle aged man? I guess youtube is just like national TV for amateurs. People can pick and choose who they want to watch. Everyone who posts videos are like the average joe but I do think that some of the youtube stars are well enough known to become celebrities, they all aren’t “Anti-Stars.”
