The Big O
I feel like Obama changed and altered his speech to make it more understandable to us (the public). For example he replaced the word him with Teddy. By using something as simple as this we now know who exactly he is talking about at this point in case we had missed him mentioning it previously. There are lots of lines and (from what i can see) many additions as opposed to subtractions. I feel as if he did this to make sure that his point came across as being clear and valid. An example of this is that have you ever tried to tell a story but you had to describe the setting and the events that were occurring before you can get to the point of the story in the first place? This is exactly what Obama is doing and he is simply adding minor details that will make a major difference in the end. In my opinion he could have retyped it after he was done revising it (as he probably did) to make the paper seem more understandable as opposed to getting confused every time you see a line or bubble next to a paragraph, even if it doesn't apply to that specific paragraph.

You're right in that even minor details make a difference in this case.
