Obama's Speech Edits

Looking through Obama's speech there were tons of things he edited and tweaked to make the speech how he wanted it. I noticed that he changed several words to "us" and "we". I think he did that to make his speech seem like the united states is a whole and we all need to make the changes together. He specifically put "Teddy" instead of just "he" to make it clear whom he was talking about. He made his speech more active after he edited it. By speaking in an active tense he comes off like he's trying to get everyone involved. He says "we" a lot also, showing he can't do everything by himself. He mentions joining together and being an American. He edited things like the security of our government. He wanted to make a point that we can rely on our government to help us as American Citizens. But again, the government can't do it alone and they need our support.

  1. Good work, Sami. The us/we modifications are more inclusive, and reminiscent of Lincoln @ Gettysburg.
