Tweet This!

I believe there is some truth to the fact that we don't really need newspapers anymore when we have other means to update us such as twitter. There is so much information within newspapers that you can get earlier by use of Twitter. For example, if an incident was to happen within the world (such as the earthquake in Haiti or the death of Michael Jackson for example) you'll know about it before the media has time to print the news onto a paper. Another positive thing about it is that you get the information as soon as it happens as opposed to having to wait the next day for the answer. If your favorite NBA team(s) were playing right now and you werent able to watch them, how would you know if they won or not? You'd have to wait until the next day, right? Wrong. Thanks to the various methods of media updates and information, you can discover something as simple as this within literally seconds of them winning or losing the game. There was also another valid point that was made within the reading and that was that by reading newspapers, the media has the power to alter the truth into however they would want, but if you were to hear the information straight from a source you would be able to see the truth behind all the lies and misconceptions. In the end, its basically preference as to which you would prefer, but in an ever changing world that is constantly finding new ways to transfer important information faster and faster, I feel it is only a matter of time before newspapers and other paper means of transferring information will slowly fade into nonexistence.

  1. Convincingly argued. This is precisely the kind of thing you want to think about with the last essay.
