NewsPapers

I would have to disagree with Anderson and say that I do not think newspapers will stop being printed. I realize that everyone gets the news online, on their cell phone or whatever apple product they have. However, I still feel like people enjoy reading the newspaper. The newspaper is a way for the community to know what is going on around them. For example, The Kent Stater- I don’t go online to the Kent Stater website to read what’s going on. I think that just picking up a hard copy of it is better. Maybe in the future newspapers won’t be as common. If they did become obsolete I guess people would have to be forced to keep up with technology. But I can not picture my dad or my grandpa going online just to read what’s going on in the world. I think printed copies of things will also stay around for the fact not everyone has a computer let alone turn one on. It is convienent for some to go online and check their news though. I can see both aspects of how newspapers COULD disappear. I just don’t think they will anytime soon. Maybe in a few generations as kids are becoming accustom to technology since like infancy or something? I could see that happening since all this technology is growing so rapidly.

  1. Very strong argument, Sami - you display a nuanced understanding of both sides.

As you point out, lots of people still like the organic "feel" of a printed newspaper.
